Welcome to Westbury United Methodist Church!

We want you—our guests—to feel welcome. With that in mind, please check out our answers to some common questions.

When Is Worship?

Note: all in-person activities, including worship service, have been canceled due to COVID-19. Please join us in worship online.

We have two worship services every Sunday:

  • 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel - Simple worship service with hymns accompanied by piano, prayers, sermon, and weekly communion.

  • 10:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary - Multicultural worship service with various music styles and instruments each week, and communion celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

Additionally, when there is a fifth Sunday of the month, we have only one worship service at 9:30 a.m. in Humphrey Hall to join together in voice and fellowship as one church family. Our next Fifth Sunday worship will be on September 29, 2019.

Where Is Westbury UMC?

Westbury UMC is located in Southwest Houston on the corner of Willowbend and West Bellfort. From the 610 Loop, take the South Post Oak exit. Next, take the West Bellfort exit. Turn right at the light, and go three blocks. Turn right on Willowbend, then right again on Cedarhurst. Our parking lot will be on your right. Look for the sign that says Main Entrance.

Where Do I Park?

There are two main entrances into the parking lot, which is located behind the church. Access to the parking lot is off West Bellfort and on Cedarhurst. Once you arrive, look for the sign that says "To Sanctuary" and a greeter will gladly direct you to the Sanctuary... or follow the signs!

What Can I Expect?

We hope you'll feel warmly welcomed by our greeters, ushers and church family. The Westbury UMC family is multi-generational with over twenty nationalities represented. Dress tends to be casual, but people feel welcome in a wide range—from suits to jeans, as well as traditional fashion from one's home country.

What About My Children?

There are Sunday School classes at 9:30 am for all age groups, including children and youth. Children gather in classrooms on the main floor in the children's wing. Youth gather upstairs in the youth wing. A greeter will gladly point you in the right direction to get your children registered and placed in an age-appropriate classroom. Infants and toddlers are cared for by our loving, trained nursery staff in the children's wing.

Children and youth are more than welcome and encouraged to worship with their families. As an option, the nursery is available for infants through age 4. Additionally, mid-way through the 10:45 worship service, 4-year-olds to 3rd graders are invited to go with our children's ministry staff to Children's Worship Time where they will engage scripture, share a time of prayer, and bring an offering.
