'What Is it About the Bread and Cup?' series in Lent

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday on February 10
Noon (Chapel) | 7 pm (Sanctuary)

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a period of fasting, repentance and spiritual discipline leading up to Easter. During Westbury UMC’s Ash Wednesday services, pastors will lightly rub the sign of the cross with ashes onto the foreheads of worshipers as an outward sign of our sorrow and repentance for sins.

The Lord’s Supper. Holy Communion. Eucharist. It is a meal with many names, and we know it is important to our life of faith, but why? What does this sacrament really mean, and how does it shape our regular, everyday lives?

Join us in worship each Sunday at 10:45 am during the season of Lent as we celebrate Communion and consider its impact on our lives and our community of faith.
