FAQs

Q: Who will be caring for my child?
A: All children will be in the care of loving and responsible adults who have had a background check and who have been trained in "Safe Sanctuary" practices.

Q: What group will my child be in?
A: This year's VBS curriculum assigns kids to small, multi-age crews––preschoolers (ages 4–K) are together and elementary students (1st-5th grades) are together. The crew size will not exceed 5 children, and each crew will be facilitated by at least one adult. These small, multi-age crews foster friendships in new ways with a focus on teamwork.

Q: What if my child has a food allergy?
A: For children with allergies, please also consider packing a snack for them if you are concerned about your child eating the daily provided snack (like crackers, fresh fruit, etc.)

Q: What should my child wear?
A: Since everything is hands-on, from crafts to science experiments, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe, close-toed shoes.

Q: Where can I find out more about the curriculum and activities?

Rolling River Rampage - VBS 2018

VBS banner

We are thrilled to start something new - VBS at night!

Starting on July 22, we will gather for fun, songs, games, learning, worship, and more. VBS at Westbury UMC will be from July 22-26, 6-8 p.m. Please follow the link below for registration details and to sign up your children!

And we are thrilled if you're interested in volunteering. You will need to attend a training workshop to prepare for your role at VBS and to understand our church's Safe Sanctuary policy. We care about the protection of every child and every leader in this ministry. We run an annual background check on each volunteer. Katy Sabayrac, Director of Family Ministries, will contact you to talk through these requirements. Simply register through the same link above. Thank you for serving!
