Nursery Caregiver

Job Description

At Westbury UMC we believe that a consistent, loving, and nurturing presence in our nursery is a vital part of our life together. We are seeking a nursery worker to be a part of a team that provides safe, loving, nurturing, and hospitable care to children, babies through 5 years old. Ministry responsibilities include general childcare, playing with children, reading to children, keeping the nursery clean and organized, and exhibiting Christ-like patience and love to all who are a part of the nursery ministry.


  • Must enjoy children and have enthusiasm in helping them discover God’s world.
  • Desire and commitment to share the love of God with children.
  • Must be comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass a background check and complete Safe Sanctuary training.
  • Must provide a reference.
  • Current certification in CPR for infants/children (or be willing to obtain).

Hours & Compensation

  • Every Sunday morning during worship and Sunday school (8am-12:30pm)
  • Additional services and events as needed (may include Sunday afternoons and evenings during the week).
  • This is a paid position at $10/hour.
