Danny YangRev. Danny Yang

Senior Pastor

Danny grew up on the west side of Houston (Alief) and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked as a semiconductor engineer before following a call into full-time ministry. He received a Master of Divinity degree from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Danny has ministered in a variety of contexts: Asian-American youth, college campus, young adults, poverty advocacy, and adult faith formation. He currently serves on the Board for the Texas Youth Academy and on the Clergy Recruitment Committee for the Texas Annual Conference. These experiences have taught Danny the importance of following Jesus with an awareness of one's culture and identity. He loves learning and teaching the Bible so that all might discover the unique ways God has created each of us to serve in the world.

Danny met his wife Susan in middle school orchestra and they have been married since 2000. Susan works as a benefits consultant, and they welcomed their daughter Ellie home in 2015.

Hannah TerryRev. Hannah Terry

Associate Pastor + Executive Director of FAM

Born and raised in upstate New York, Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Roberts Wesleyan College and Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. She holds certification in Forming Missional Communities from The Academy for Missional Wisdom. As an ordained deacon, she serves alongside the church and the world as friend, neighbor, and visionary. Hannah discerned with the people of Westbury UMC that southwest Houston needs trust-building and holy friendships for the purpose of personal wholeness, communal healing, and systemic change through love of God and neighbor. She lives in FAM's intentional Christian community and builds bridges to cultivate communities of prayer and action among refugees, immigrants, and local Houstonians. She currently serves as Chair of the Social Principles Implementation in Ministry Committee for the Texas Annual Conference. Hannah loves to cook and share the table with family and friends. She and her dog Grace enjoy exploring Houston and making trips to Lake Livingston.

My favorite time of day is... coffee time.

Steve Ewing

Steve Ewing

Business and Facilities Manager

Bio coming soon!

My favorite time of day is... Saturday evening, just as the sun starts to set and the air cools. Particularly if our kids are in town, for that means the barbeque pit is going, ribs, burgers or fajitas are on the grill, and a bunch of their friends will be over. It does not get much better for us.

My favorite music to listen to while alone is... classic rock and roll from the '60s: Chicago, 3 Dog Night, Four Tops, Sam and Dave... or opera.

Hillary PeeteHillary Peete

Director of Children's Ministries / Connections Coordinator

Hillary was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Agnes Scott College and Candler School of Theology with a Master of Divinity. She met her husband, Brandon, while in seminary. He is an Episcopal priest serving at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. They have a son, Felix. The Peete family loves checking out new restaurants, and they spend most evenings taking their rambunctious dogs for a walk.

The best adventure I’ve ever had was... taking a last minute, midnight train from Sofia, Buglaria to the Black Sea for a week on the beach.

My favorite time of day is... when Felix, my son, wakes up. When I walk into his room to get him, he has this huge smile on his face and laughs. My second favorite time of day is at night when he's finally sound asleep!

Cindy ParkerCindy Parker

Ministry Associate

Cindy graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in dance. She has been dancing since the age of 4 and loves anything dealing with the
arts, especially Broadway musicals. She grew up in Palestine, Texas with her mom (whom she considers her favorite person). She has two dogs, Oliver and Elphaba (her name is from the musical Wicked). At Westbury UMC, she has not only found an amazing group of people to work with, but as a church, she has found grace, friendship and a multitude of blessings.

My favorite meal... would have to be pizza. I can eat it hot or cold, for breakfast or dinner.

My dream vacation would be... traveling the world and visiting every continent. I love learning about people, their cultures and what they believe in.

Kristy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Houston, TX, when she was 6 months old! Growing up on the west side of Houston, she and her family attended Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. She later attended and graduated from Houston Baptist University with a B.B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing.

Susan Edge

Susan Edge

Day School Director

Many people don’t know that Susan grew up in Houston, specifically, Westbury. She attended Johnston Jr. High and also Westbury High School, then graduated from University of Houston with a degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. Susan’s parents live right down the street from Westbury UMC! She has two children, Brian Edge and Emily Edge Fenlon. Brian and his wife, Becca, have given her the joy of being “Nana” to her precious granddaughters, Cameron, Charlotte and Molly.

How did Susan discover Westbury Methodist? Her daughter attended Mother’s Day Out as a 3-year-old, and she fell in love with the school as a parent. Susan was very excited to have had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten at Westbury for 19 memorable years, and she has served as Director of the Day School since September 2008. She feels blessed to be part of the Westbury Methodist family.

I'm passionate about... the wonder of childhood.

Something important in my office is... my scrapbook that was lovingly made for me, highlighting my 19 years as Kindergarten teacher at the Day School. I also love having children’s artwork in my office, and of course, pictures of my family!

Jayson BrownJayson Brown

Safety Staff

Jayson Brown is a life-long member of Westbury UMC. He was baptized and confirmed at Westbury where he learned to love and serve the Lord by participating in the various activities offered to the youth of the church. Jayson’s abilities to empathize with and discern the needs of others have led him to his vocation of security at Westbury UMC and The Covenant House, a residential facility for at-risk youth. Jayson’s love for God and His Holy Word compelled him to take classes at The College of Biblical Studies and he constantly marvels at the universal tenets set forth in the Bible which are totally applicable to our lives today. He attends the University of Phoenix where he is majoring in business management. Jayson and his wife Tiesha are the thankful and proud parents of twins, Teagan and Tzion.

I want people to remember me as... a fun person to be around, outgoing, and loving.

My most spiritual moment was... experiencing child development from embryo to birth. Seeing the awesomeness of God. Having to lean hard on the healing power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when my wife became extremely ill during pregnancy, then seeing her pull through daily getting her strength back carrying a set of twins at the same time was an incredible work of God. Amen.
