Ways to Serve the World

Love the world

Westbury UMC seeks to be faithful to God's mission throughout the world. We are all about making disciples, building up the church, alleviating suffering and promoting justice, freedom and peace. We focus our efforts within two primary partnerships:

Cameroon Mission

An ongoing friendship with the Methodist Mission in Cameroon has developed between Westbury UMC and the UM Church in this West African country. In February 2013, a team traveled there to help facilitate workshops on music and worship. Future trips and fundraising endeavors are anticipated. Westbury UMC also sends eye glasses to support the Cameroon Mission's health clinic.

HAPI (Haitian Artisans for Peace International)

Located in Mizak, Haiti, the HAPI initiative empowers Haitians to grow their capacity to lead with integrity, to develop their own solutions and to help their families and communities live to their fullest potential. Projects include artisan fair trade, microbusiness loans, health services, maternal care and children’s enrichment activities.
