We will hold several worship services in the Sanctuary during Holy Week leading up to our Easter celebration:
- Palm Sunday | Sunday, March 29 @ 10:45 am
Children will lead our procession into the Sanctuary, waving palm branches as we remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of Holy Week.
- Maundy Thursday | Thursday, April 2 @ 7 pm
The term “maundy” comes from the Latin translation of Jesus’ words in John 13: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you.” Jesus said this as he washed his disciples’ feet, an act of humility, service and love. This service of worship will offer an optional observance of footwashing, as well as Holy Communion.
- Good Friday | Friday, April 3 @ noon
Marking the day Jesus died, this somber service will be punctuated by prayer and song, with soloists and imagery for contemplation.
- Easter Sunday | Sunday, April 5, two services @ 8 am and 10:45 am
Energetic worship and Holy Communion will be the highlight at both services. At the 10:45 service, we’ll hear special music by the Festival Choir, worship band, organ and brass quartet; also, 11 of our 6th-grade youth will be confirmed.
*Nursery for babies through age 4 will be available at all worship services.
