A great place
for kids
At Westbury United Methodist Church, we welcome children and their families. We recognize the importance of partnering with families to help raise children with an awareness that we all have a purpose in God’s Kingdom.
We encourage families to worship together. Children participate in the worship service in a variety of ways, including special presentations, reading Scripture and serving as Acolytes. Children’s bulletins and activity bags are provided for each child, and a special children’s time is included in our worship services. A room at the back of the sanctuary provides a comfortable place for parents with energetic children to enjoy the service via television. Childcare is provided in the children’s wing during both services for infants, toddlers and preschool children.
In Sunday school, children explore the Bible through stories, games and music, discovering how God’s word is applicable to their daily lives. Sunday school groups for ages 3 and up meet at 9:45 each Sunday morning.
Have kids? POPS is for you!
Young kids? Tweens? Teens? At POPS, we are parents with kids of all ages! Potty training? Teen angst? Sibling rivalry? Bedtime issues? Someone at POPS has been there, and someone else at POPS is currently there! This informal group meets at 6:30 pm on the third Friday of each month in the Parlor. We share a potluck dinner, make friends, play games, and discuss parenting topics. We want you to be part of this group! Free babysitting is available through the Children’s Ministry. Call Karen Ewing at 713-723-0191 to reserve your spot.
