United Methodist Men


Basic Information

Westbury's United Methodist Men meet the second or third Saturday of each month for breakfast, devotions, speakers, and fellowship.

Breakfast is provided for a donation, and can include sausage, eggs, pancakes, juice, fruit, cereal and milk, and of course, coffee!

The meetings are usually finished by 9:00 AM.UM Men is a great place for fellowship and support for men.

Our mission

Westbury’s United Methodist Men exists for fellowship, worship, learning and service.

Westbury’s UM Men has given thousands of dollars to numerous causes, including youth and youth choir mission trips, youth center remodeling, scout hut renovations, Habitat for Humanity, equipment for the church, landscaping costs for the church, a gift to Pleasantville UMC in Houston, United Methodist Committee on Relief, refurbishing of one of the church’s bathrooms, Sunday School curriculum, the church playground remodeling, and other causes.

Briskets!

The men have several money-raising projects each year, and especially, the sale of briskets at Thanksgiving and in the spring. To order your Fall, 2007, brisket click here.

History

UM Men was chartered in 1997, at the request of Dr. J. D. Phillips. John Williams was the first president, and more than fifty men signed on as charter members. 2004 officers are Brian Axtell, President and Joel Marroquin, Treasurer.
