There’s a new* dance ministry at WUMC:
Moved by the Spirit  - kicks off Jan 13, 2008

Purpose of Ministry: Enter into the presence of God, and usher the presence of God into worship services, with interpretive dance

*NEW Ministry time:  Sundays 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., usually in Humphrey Hall; performances several times each year in 8:30 or 11:00 services

Ministry members: youth in grades 6-12.  In March each year, 5th graders are encouraged to begin participating  in the practice sessions so that they will be ready to perform in summer services.

*NEW Ministry opportunities: if you don’t like to dance, we still need you.  Research and cut music, learn to run a sound system, and more.

We need youth who know common dances (Superman, Cupid Shuffle, etc.) who can lead our warm up songs each practice.  Note: you may have to adjust one or two moves of these dances if they aren’t clean.  We need youth who already know how to do some hip hop moves so you can teach the rest of us.

Every session begins and ends with prayer.  Come ready to communicate with God and to learn to tune into the Holy Spirit with creative movements.
