Dearest Supporting Churches,

“Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.” Albert Schweitzer

Bill and I celebrated Thanksgiving at our home with fifteen friends. During our time together we each shared why were thankful this year. As I thought about the reasons I was thankful, I was overwhelmed by the phenomenal number of blessings we have received from God and His people this year. High on our list is YOU; our supporting churches. We are so grateful for your support, both prayer and financial that we have received. There is no day that we do not experience the power of your prayers in our work, in the hospital and its project, and in our lives. We are so blessed to see day by day the miracles that unfold around us. Even in the midst of severe poverty, family abuse, malnutrition and hunger, sickness, suffering, death and grief, we are filled with hope and the vision that God has for the hospital, the church, and the community. We are amazed at the strength and perseverance, joy and thanksgiving of the people here. We are deeply touched by your generosity and loving kindness. The combination gives us glimpses of God that fill us to overflowing with hope and gratitude.

We know that without your support we could not continue to serve at Maua Methodist Hospital. We know that it is not always easy to raise support for missions and so we are especially grateful to you. You will never know what you mean to us. You allow us to be here, in the place which we feel God has called us to and doing the work he has prepared us to do.

Thank you for being one of the reasons we are so very thankful this Thanksgiving. May God continue to bless each of you as you reach around the world in the name of Jesus Christ to help “the least of these.” We thank God daily that we are in ministry with you.

Our thanks and prayers,
